Yokohama Rainbow Festa LGBT 2015

横浜レインボーフェスタ 2015 実行委員会(代表 木村 サスケ)は 2015 年 10 月 31 日(土)および 11 月 1 日(日)、横浜大さん橋 CIQ プラザにて、LGBT(レズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシャル、ト ランスジェンダー)への理解を広げる啓蒙イベント「横浜レインボーフェスタ 2015」(YRF2015) を開催いたします。

On Saturday October 31 and Sunday November 1, 2015, Yokohama Rainbow Festa 2015 Committee (representative Mr. Sasuke Kimura) will be hosting Yokohama Rainbow Festa 2015 (YRF2015) with support from the city of Yokohama, an advocacy event aimed at raising awareness towards LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) issues.

開港 156 年という時間の中で、多種多様な人々が支え合いながら発展した国際都市 横浜。 そこにはお互いの「違い」を積極的に理解し、敬意を持って認め合い、共生しながら発展してき た歴史がありました。

In the 156 years since the ports of Yokohama first opened, the citizens of the city, coming from a diverse range of backgrounds, had supported each other as the city flourished into an international city. Yokohama’s history was developed upon its people’s emphatic acceptance and respect towards differences as they coexisted in the city.

一方、社会的には少数派(マイノリティ)と認識されがちな LGBT も、2012 年の調査では国内で も『20 人に 1 人』の割合で自らを LGBT と自認していると言われています。彼らにとって、自ら のアイデンティティが理解されない社会というのは、本当の意味で寛容とはほど遠いにも関わら ず、私たちはその現状に向き合えているとは言えません。

Meanwhile, LGBT people, who are considered “minorities” in society, have responded in a 2012 survey that “one in 20 people” identify as LGBT. A society which has yet to acknowledge or understand these people’s identities cannot be an accepting society in the true sense of the word. However, we do not believe that our society has brought itself to face the situation yet.

実際に欧米諸国をはじめとした多くの国において、企業による LGBT の支援を CSR として実践、企 業のブランドイメージの向上と併せ、大きな経済価値を生み出している事例や、国内外の都市も 「LGBT フレンドリーシティ」を宣言することで多くの来訪者を獲得している実例が多数あります。

Many companies overseas, particularly in Europe and North America, have shown their support for LGBT causes as part of their CSR agenda. Not only has this proven to improve their corporate brand image, but has also created large financial value in many cases.

LGBT の持つ価値を地域発展に活かした最新の都市モデルを実現すると共に、真の意味でのダイバ ーシティー(多様性)の具現化である「LGBT フレンドリーシティ横浜」を目指し、第 1 回目の開 催となる「横浜レインボーフェスタ 2015」を下記にて開催いたします。

We aim to develop a new model of local within Yokohama; one which upholds LGBT values for community development.
2015 will mark the first ever Yokohama Rainbow Festa - We extend a warm welcome you to take part in this momentous event.
